A reason to be cheerful

When reading polls it’s always best to look at the numbers over a longer period of time than just one poll on it’s own or the changes between this months and last months. You should then remember that the margin of error is (usually) about 3pts and that as such, changes of 1 or 2pts are usually just statistical noise (unless party x keeps gaining 1pt every new poll). Finally you should remember that about one poll in every twenty is just flat-out wrong. 

Bearing all that in mind, here is the Labour % in all YouGov polls since May (first is the earliest)…

31, 32, 32, 33, 33, 31, 32, 31, 31, 33, 36
